The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art is home to a collection of paintings by various American artists and the country's largest collection of paintings by Grant Wood.  The museum is closed on Mondays and offers free admission on Thursday evenings from 4 - 8 PM.  The rest of the time adult admission is $6.  See the museum's website for more information on exhibits and directions.

The African American Historical Museum and Cultural Center in Cedar Rapids also makes a great place to visit.  This museum gives visitors an inside look at Black American history from an Iowan perspective.  It offers exhibits which change periodically as well as special events.  Closed on Sundays, admission to the museum is $4 for adults and $2.50 for children over the age of five.  The African American Historical Museum also has a unique gift shop.  For more information visit the museum's website.
