If you are looking for a way to experience the heart and soul of the Bluegrass, you must arrange a visit to Old Friends, a retirement facility for pensioned Thoroughbred racehorses. Never will you visit a more fan-friendly working horse farm. Old Friends is open 7 days a week with a few seasonal exceptions. Please call for a tour reservation. 

Old Friends mission is provide a safe and diginified home for retired Champions and hard knocking every day race horses. OF is also the only equine retirement group that accomodates stallions. In residence,  you will find Grade 1 winners such as Ogygian, Gulch, Game on Dude, Sarava and Creator. Grazing contentedly in the spacious paddocks, you will also encounter Popcorn Delights (one of nine horses that portrayed Seabiscuit in the movie), and Swan's Way (a claimer from Suffolk Downs, who raced until the ripe old age of 15).

Currently home to over 100 deserving pensioners, Old Friends at Dream Chase is the culmination of years of hard work and the determination of founder Michael Blowen and his tremendous staff of volunteers. During your visit, you can expect an informative and educational history of the farm, its mission and, of course, the horses. Enjoy feeding a carrot or peppermint to an equine celebrity. The tour is $10 per adult and children 12 and under are free. You may wish to visit the cozy gift shop to purchase a cap, t-shirt, artwork or handcrafted keepsake. Patrons may also purchase a sponsorship in a horse of their choice for $100 -- for which OF will send a lovely certificate and photo of your horse.

Allow at least one hour plus for the outdoor tour and dress comfortably with sturdy walking shoes. For those who are mobility challenged, the farm has a golf cart available with advance notice.
