ArtPrize - the World's Largest Art Competition - you can wander through over 160 venuesl all over Grand Rapids each autumn and see an array of artwork from all over the country and all over the world.

Festival of the Arts - Every year, first weekend in June, Festival presents the best performers in West Michigan on six stages, inside and outdoors! Music, dance, theatre arts, and much more - all presented free of charge. And everywhere you go, there are food tents. Plus loads of tents of carvings, jewelry, pottery, weavings and more. The Art Museum and other downtown arts organizations put on special events during Festival.

Heritage Hill Tour of Homes: The first full weekend in May (moved from October due to the popularity of ArtPrize), the Heritage Hill Neighborhood Association plans a tour of 10-20 of the beautiful old homes and other buildings in the historic Heritage Hill neighborhood. Big old Victorians, Prairie-style bungalows, the amazing Masonic hall, Gerald Ford's childhood home - it's always a mixture, and fascinating to see the wonderful (and horrible!) things people have done with these places.  You can walk from place to place, following the map on your ticket, or catch a shuttle to the farthest-flung. Neighbors have coffee stands with home-made cookies for sale.
