The grounds are open 7 days a week during daylight hours. Office hours
are 8-5 Monday through Friday, Saturday 10-4, and Sunday 12-4.
The Outdoor Discovery Center of Wildlife Unlimited is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, outdoor education facility that was founded in 2000 by Wildlife Unlimited and the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District. It serves the outdoor recreation needs of the West Michigan community with over 20,000 people participating in programs each year. The 120 acre nature preserve boasts 5 distinct ecosystems including: remnant dune, prairie, lowland hardwood forest, pond, and wet meadow. The 7 acre DeWitt Wildlife Enclosure where deer and elk roam free and are available for viewing. Unreleasable hawks, eagles, owls, falcons, and vultures live in the Parkhurst Birds of Prey Education Facility where they are publicly available for viewing. Multiple sensory stops exist along the "Sensory Trail" which permit people an opportunity to experience nature regardless of their physical or mental limitation. Over 4 miles of trails exist which include fully accessible gravel trails and boardwalks.
