Billing is free for the most part of the type of violent crimes prevalent in some larger cities.  Its streets are considered very safe by its residents, who often leave car doors unlocked and windows open.  Visitors to the area should not anticipate problems with crime, and if a problem should arise the people in Billings are extremely friendly and helpful. In addition, the Billings Police Department is a force of wonderful individuals who can be counted on in any situation.

Visitors should plan for the weather. As with most any place in Montana, weather can change quickly and be extreme. Winters can be cold and Billings receives some heavy snowfall. Plan to check road reports and airlines before travel to ensure your route is free and clear.

Billings is a regional hub for healthcare, and there are two hospitals that are the largest health service within a 500 mile radius.
