Laughlin is not always considered a travel destination for families, primarily because its major draw is gambling which, of course, can only be done by those guests who are eighteen and over.  However, there are plenty of things for the kids to do, both with their parents and while parents are busy at the casinos, so visitors should not hesitate to bring their children to the area.

Outdoor fun can be had by all ages at Lake Mohave ( ) or at numerous locations along the Colorado River ( ).   Children can go swimming or wading and families can go out together on boats or snorkeling adventures.  Adolescents often simply enjoy tanning on the beach while younger children can make sandcastles during the months when the sand is not too hot for play.  Travelers can take a break from the heat by grabbing ice cream cones at one of the stops along the Riverwalk ( ).

On days when it is simply too hot to enjoy being outside in Laughlin, even on the water, travelers can take their kids indoors.   Education-focused travelers can explore the car collection specialty museum ( ) or visit the informative tourist center of Grapevien Canyon ( ).   Entertainment-focused travelers will find that pool tables, bowling and movie theaters are all easily found on the major strip of Laughlin casinos.
