Public Transportation to Cape May is via New Jersey Transit. If you are coming from the airport in Philadelphia or Atlantic City a then a car is your best bet. The pick up and drop off location in Cape May for New Jersey Transit is the Welcome Center/Bus Terminal. The bus will take you to neighboring shore towns such as Wildwood, Stone Harbor etc. Check out the schedule directly with NJ Transit. Off season, transportion is not as frequent. Getting around town, you can walk, ride a bike or drive your car. Last summer there was a Trolley that stopped at several locations on Beach Av. at different hotels. You could ride up to the Washington Street Mall (pedestrian mall, outdoor) and it would loop back to the hotels. It ran from July to September and there was a nominal fee. Some hotels had complimentry one ways passes to the mall via the Trolley. You could either walk back or pay to ride back to your hotel. Other than that a taxi is available. Since there are only 2 companies in town, reservations are highly recommended.
