When visitors to Ocean City are ready for a break from sunbathing and walking up and down the Boardwalk, there are plenty of nearby places to visit for the day. Some take just a few hours to see, and some can last an entire day.

Whale Watching : Whale watching in the New Jersey area is a popular attraction for tourists. There are several companies that offer whale watching tours. Usually, tours begin with a boat ride out to sea and tour guides point out the whales. This is a pleasant tour for anyone who likes boats, the water, and marine life.

Historic Cold Spring Village : The Village is a living history museum. There are many activities for children (and adults) in this early American, open-air attraction. There are arts and crafts projects, an area where children can try on early American costumes, and there are homemade jam and jelly-making demonstrations on certain days. The museum is also a great place to find unique gifts.

Leaming’s Run Gardens : Visitors can spend an entire day in the Gardens. There are bridges, paths, and lots of great scenery. It has been voted as one of the top gardens to visit on the East Coast of the United States.
