Cooperstown is the perfect place to take a family for a vacation. If you want to teach your kids about the game of baseball, you will have no better place in the country to do so than here. Not only can you go to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, but you can also see baseball games at Doubleday Field. The Hall of Fame Game is a great time for the family, and there is low cost involved. If you don't want to stay in a bed and breakfast or hotel, you can stay on a campground and spend the nights by camp fire roasting marshmallows. This is a great experience for smaller children as well. While you are in town, you can check out some of the great shops they have, or just go to the Hall of Fame gift shop and pick up some souvenirs. If you want to see a bit more than just baseball though, you can go either to the Fenimore House Museum or walk around the grounds of the historic Otesaga Hotel, which was built in 1911. You can also have some fun at Lake Otsego. Either way, you are sure to have a great time while you are in Cooperstown, and it will bring your family closer together.
