Yadkinville is the Gateway to the Yadkin Valley Wine Region. It sits at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC. This region has the largest concentration of wineries in North Carolina as of 2012. Currently there are 34 vineyards, wineries and tasting rooms. History reveals that it has been more than a century since the first commercial winery was established in the state of NC in 1835. The first vineyard at Westbend Winery was planted in 1972, renewing the growing of grapes in this area again. In 2012 the entire State of NC has 110 vineyards, wineries and tasting rooms and Yadkin County now has 13.

Since 2006 there has been significant growth of tourism in this area. In addition to wine tasting you can enjoy Llama Trekking, Hot Air Ballon Rides, a Zip Line, Clay Shooting, Community Parks, Yadkin River Canoeing & Kayaking, an Amish General Store, a Quilt Trail and Civil War Trail Markers. Also you can visit the new Yadkin Cultural Arts Center in downtown Yadkinville sponsored by the Yadkin Arts Council. Enjoy shopping at the YARD (Yadkin Artist Residing Downtown) where you will find local working artisans and Art shows displayed in the Gallery. This fall the Arts Council will be opening a 192 seat  State-of- the-Art Theater. This will provide a flexible space for concerts, musicals and stage productions.
