The Whale Interpretive Centre is in the heart of Telegraph Cove, right next to the departure point of the whale-watching trips, and makes a really worthwhile stop, either before or after a trip. It puts everything in better context, with artifacts, skeletons, films and displays about all sorts of marine animals. It is run by a not-for-profit society, staffed by enthusiasts, and entry is by donation. In a settlement dominated by tourism it would be easy for a place like this to be commercial or superficial, but this is not the case here.
