Giving Burma the python a cuddle at Aquaworld

Aquaworld Aquarium has been in Hersonissos, Crete, since 1995 and is definitely on the must-do list. Entrance only costs 6 Euro for adults and 4 Euro for children. Even better, you then get a membership card which allows you to visit as many times in the season as you (or the children) wish!

Aquaworld specialises in showing local sea life and reptiles, although there are a growing number of snakes, lizards and tortoises from other countries. Most impressive is Naga, a seven-year-old Burmese python who is already almost four metres long and weighs in at about 60 kilos! There's also her friend Raja, perhaps a year younger, but growing just as fast! They both dine weekly on chicken legs and are happy for visitors to watch, photograph and video...

The staff at Aquaworld are very well informed and are happy to share their knowledge with anyone who's interested. Photography is allowed (no flash with the octopus, however) and you can pose with a variety of snakes, lizards and tortoises.

Great value, great fun and educational as well. What more can you ask for?

Open from 1st April until 31st October.

See you there!!!!
