Guthrie is one of the most authentic towns in oklahoma.  Much of the downtown dates back to the 1890's and early 1900's.  There are six very unique museums and a historic trolley tour that runs hourly Monday through Saturday.  Guthrie's history stems back to the Oklahoma land run days in 1889 and it's beginnings as the capital of Oklahoma Territory, then the State of Oklahoma for several years are a fasinating story.  The old buildings in the downtown area are filled with art galleries, antique shops and lots of wonderful boutique style shopping of gifts, crafts and home decor.

Just 20 minutes north of the Oklahoma City area Guthrie is an easy find along I-35 and a is a great place to catch a little culture Oklahoma's only full time theatre troupe at the Pollard Theatre, hear 3 time world champion fiddler Byron Berline perform at his Double Stop Music Hall, catch a rodeo at the Lazy E Arena, or step back in time in of their 14 bed and breakfast inns.

What a delightful place and the people are very friendly.  Being here feels like coming home, even if your home is a very different place.
