Salem boasts an number of festivals that take place throughout the year:

Lavender and Antique Festival is your opportunity to know everything about lavender from cooking to growing healthy lavender. And you can pick your own bunch from Havenhill Lavender farm.

Magic at the Mill festival every December at Mission Mill Museum. Enjoy five days of music and entertainment as performers stage Salem's history in the fully decorated historic district.

Emjoy at Mount Angel Oktoberfest the traditions of the bavarian countryside in Orgeon! Expect four days in Septemeber of live music, night streetdancing, arts and crafts show and traditional Biergarten, Weingarten and Alpinegarten.

In Spring visit Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn and be amzed at the varietty of daffodils, tulips and other bulb plants.

Salem World Beat Festival is held at the Riverfront Park. It has foods, crafts, music, dance, etc from countries around the world. 

Salem Art Fair & Festival is a huge festival held at the Bush park, with hundreds of booths of all types of art. There is a small food court and a stage with live entertainment. music, (unsure if additional)

The Oregon State Fair must be mentioned. Of course held at the state fairgrounds. Its huge, crafts, foods, arts, rides, animals, shows, music venues. they added an outdoor biking course, and indoor for bikes and skateboards.
