PEEC is a  fun place that teaches you about the enviroment. It has quite a few good well marked trails.  The center is free to visit and hike.  You can stay overnight or pay a day rate for certain programs.  It has a vareity of programs including family nature weekends.  The family nature weekends offer a variety of programming.  Some of the programming consists of family hikes, canoeing, tye dye, arts and crafts, animal studies, animal presentations, campfires w/smores, and trips to beautiful waterfalls.  There are ice cream socials and a great guy comes in and teaches families all the fun party dances.  They have  older rustic cabins, new cabins (but they are attached), yurts, tent sites, and large lodges for school groups.  They have a beautiful dining hall!  The meals and activities are all included in the price.  The EcoZone is the indoor exploration & discovery room.  It is open to the public certain hours each month.  The staff is seasonal so you get to meet new people each time you go.  They also cater to scout groups, people interest in photography, quilting groups, hiking groups, schools, and outdoorsy people.  They will teach you how to camp, go canoe camping, and offer teacher credit for college courses taken there.  PEEC has a summer camp for kids.  It's a good place to learn about the environment and going "green".
