Located off of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Parkway in West Roxbury, Millennium Park is a huge, pristine park built over what used to be a city dump! The park features several playing fields (one baseball, four soccer or football), miles and miles of paved walkways suitable for walking or bicycling, and adjoins ten miles of backwoods trails through the West Roxbury woods. There is a canoe launch area located in the lower parking lot for floating on the Charles River. The park has a huge parking lot so there’s always plenty of room. Picnicking is allowed, and dogs are allowed if kept on-leash. Many people ignore this rule, but it’s a $200 fine if you are caught.

The park also features a tot-lot and on particularly warm days the city opens a concession stand that sells ice cream, cold drinks, and snacks.

Millennium Park also hosts an annual kite festival and really is the best spot for kite flying in all of Boston.
