Ventura ’s Shores Serve as Chief Departure Point for
Gray Whale Watching Excursions From December to April
(Ventura, CA) – As the winter months descend upon central California, the gray whales begin the long migration from their Alaskan feeding grounds to the warm waters of the Baja coast, giving Ventura visitors and locals alike the opportunity to observe one of nature’s greatest natural phenomenons.
Ventura ’s gray whale watching season officially begins on December 26, and continues through early April.   During these months, Island Packers, Ventura’s official concessionaire to the Channel Islands National Park, offers three to 3.5 hour whale watching excursions departing one to two times a day, at the price of $26 for adults, $22 for seniors (age 55+) and $17 for children (age 3-12).   Island Packers also offers full-day excursions to both Anacapa and Santa Cruz Islands, which include whale watching opportunities on the way to and from the islands.   Call (805) 641-1888 or visit www.islandpackers.com for further information.
