Bistro Aix is a great French/Mediterranian bistro, named after the Provencal town of Aix ( pronounced X). Located in the historic San Marco section of Jacksonville, the restaurant has won awards for the decor, Best Chef and Most Romantic Restaurant.
You can sit at large leather banquets, or at large tables on very comfortable chairs that you would probably like to have in your home. The lights and the huge mirrors on the walls, all contribute to a warm and friendly space where it is easy and pleasant to spend a long leisurely meal.
They do not take reservations, but you can call ahead to be on a priority list.
It is enjoyable to wait for your table at the bar, the drinks are good and the wines are excellent. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable.
Some of their specialities are Steamed mussels in wine, Grilled Tuna on a bed of mashed potatoes and a big favorite in the dessert catagory is the Banana Bread Pudding.
No trip to Jacksonville is complete without a meal at Bistro Aix.
