There’s many wonderful bush walks at the Kakahu limekiln, Limestone Wave and Caves, Talbot Forest and nearby Peel Forest.

One of the best walks in New Zealand is the Hooker Valley an easy walk to the base of Aoraki/Mt Cook, and the Hooker Glacier and Hooker Lake, around Mt Somers .....and then there is always the Challenge of a trek up “Little” Mount Peel (1311mtrs).

In winter there is Skiing/snowboarding, (Eight different fields within an hour) and Ice skating and hot pools nearby at Tekapo.
