Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Paradise on earth
Beautiful house with lush green lawn leading down to private pool, looking out on to private beach and jetty. But that's not all of it. Warm welcome, delicious home cooking, lots to do and see within easy reach. Stress left me within minutes of arriving. Simply one of the best, most relaxing villas I have stayed in in my life. Highly recommended.

A GEM.
This place has been made for comfort in every single way, on arrival you can immediately hear the bird noises that are very soothing, it's lavish green covers the place creating an interaction of human and nature. At culloden you feel the mix of southern Europe, topical Africa and the Caribbean's. The place is so strategically located with endless things to do in the area, but also easy to get Kingston,Negril and montego bay, honestly speaking on our trip we only truly relaxed after arriving at culloden and all we wanted was just stay at the premises. Natalie the chef and the team took great care of us made us feel really welcome, served us great tasty meals. Unfortunately we had only 2 nights stay, we tried hard to change our flights but didnt manage and simply took in as much as possible so I would strongly recommend at least 5 nights that was you soak it up. To the owner/s thanks for creating such a lovely place filled with love and comfort.

Tranquil, beautiful, and delicious!
We stayed for three days at the Culloden Cove and had a wonderful time. It is a very quiet and beautiful getaway. The caretakers for the property were very nice and professional. Additionally, the food the cooks prepared was very good.

Peace, Love and Happiness!
This was our second time at Culloden Cover- last time was 13 years ago when our kids were 4, 8, and 10. It was epic then and 13 years later, our kids now young adults, the experience was just as magical and memorable (so much so that we've already booked next year!). The location is paradise. We love that Culloden Cove is situated near the small fishing village of White House. So you are out of the tourist trap vibe of more popular destinations, yet close enough to Negril and Montego Bay if you fancy day trips. We were quite happy though to just chill out on the Culloden compound, swim in the crystal blue waters, snorkel around the reefs, and lounge by the pool. There are many areas to relax making this a great place to be with group. The accommodation- comfortable beds, tropical decor and the main house and smaller villa on the property allow for lots of room! The service- Lily and Nathalie are lovely, kind, helpful, and most importantly- AMAZING COOKS!!! They cooked all of our meals and were able to accommodate my vegetarian daughter with healthy tasty meatless options. The chicken and seafood were out of this world and locally sourced. Howard, our driver, was the best. Super fun and knowledgeable of the area. Overall, Culloden Cove is the best place to go for sunshine, relaxation, and quality time with family and friends. If you are looking for something different then the busy pace of a resort and a more personable experience- then this is the place to go!

Magical Culloden Cove
On entering Culloden Cove for the first time it was WOW,WOW,WOW. The most beautiful magical place my family has ever been to. The wonderful staff Nathaliee and Lilly were there to greet us with massive smiles on their faces and welcomed us with open arms. Our bus driver Howard was absolutely fantastic. Everything about Culloden Cove was just perfect, the beautiful evening setting down to the early morning with the birds singing their songs. The food was cooked to perfection every time and the staff made our holiday special. Nathaliee and Lilly was always on hand to help in every way possible. We will definitely be returning.

Not a better place to stay in Jamaica!
If you really want the charm and comfort of a small resort then this is your place! Beautifully located on the beach with an infinity pool that gives you the sense of floating in the blue ocean waters. Staff at the house makes you feel like family, provide the best experience of local culture cuisine and the true sense of a no worries vacation! They were great to arrange for transportation to/from the airport as well as to any excursion we took. Dependable and safe transportation with local hospitality. We have been to this villa once before and decided we need to not allow another 3 years before our next visit! We enjoyed our days of relaxing at the villa, which was enhanced by a massage in the gazebo listening to the waves; but also the adventures to YS Falls, Floyds Pelican Bar (A MUST in our opinion) and into Negril for seven mile beach and cliff jumping at Ricks. Great mix between adventure and total relaxation. Staff was fantastic to assist in scheduling/transportation with needed COVID testing prior to our return to the US as well! Not a better time than now to enjoy this beachside villa, fantastic staff and beautiful country!

Simply Incredible
From the moment we arrived, we knew we would not want to leave. It is hard to put into words how special this property is. The house is spacious and clean. The grounds provide tons of private spaces to hang out while accommodating large gatherings with ease. The views can only be described as stunning, particularly during sunset time. A short walk across a carpet-like lawn and you are in the pool (I think I spent 10 hours a day in there). A few short steps and you are on your private beach and dock or in turquoise water, swimming with the wild life. But all of these magical accommodations would be meaningless without the lovely, caring and overall fabulous team of people who take care of this property and your needs during the entire stay. Nathalee, Gale and Lily are simply incredible in every way. We felt pampered during the entire stay and will miss them very much. The home cooked meals were truly fantastic. And let's not forget the always happy and helpful driver, Howard. The kids didn't want him to leave. Can't wait to come back again and again and again. Thank you for the most memorable vacation.

Culloden Cove - A place of paradise
This is the second year in a row that I have stayed at Culloden Cove. It really is a paradise. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave the staff takes great care of you and your guests. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and each has its own ductless air conditioning. The quality of the food is excellent. The food is far better than most hotels. Sitting by the pool is a great relaxing experience. Direct access to the Caribbean Sea allows for spontaneous swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. There is a reef less than one mile off shore that has good snorkeling. In both stays I had the staff set up a fishing trip with a local fisherman and his wife who really know the area and we caught bonito, barracuda, and wahoo. The value is excellent. This place is great for both family and friends. By far the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. I will be returning again in the future.

About the neighbourhood
The property is in an acre of tropical gardens on the beach, near the fishing town of Whitehouse. The sun sets opposite the infinity pool every night and you can snorkel and kayak from our private beach. This is the real, authentic Jamaica. The villa combines tranquility and complete privacy with proximity to major attractions. The top six places of interest in Jamaica, according to the Lonely Planet guidebook, are all within easy reach. Sandals Whitehouse hotel, recently voted Jamaica's Leading Resort in the World Travel Awards, is close by and offers discounted passes to Culloden guests. Culloden Cove provides a great base to explore this lovely part of Jamaica. Top attractions - including the seven-mile beach of Negril, the beautiful YS waterfalls, cruising on the Black River looking at crocodiles, and the idyllic offshore Pelican Bar on a sandbank in the middle of the sea – are all within easy reach of the villa. Suggested activities are outlined below. At the end of the list are some recommended itineraries for day-trips. Trips within one hour of the villa Accompong and Cockpit Country – The beautiful hills of Cockpit Country (described as “upturned egg boxes”) are home to the descendants of the once-mighty Maroons, escaped slaves who waged guerrilla war against the British. Visit the village of Accompong, which remains a semi-autonomous state governed by a Maroon council, meet the ‘Colonel’, tour the museum and learn about a fascinating slice of history. Appleton rum estate – Jamaica’s finest rum has been produced on this 11,000 acre estate since 1749. Take a tour of the estate, learn about the distillation process and taste a wide selection of fine local rums. Bars – There are a number of local bars with great character. Leroy’s bar on the waterfront at Belmont is highly recommended for a drink at sunset, or steamed fish at their regular parties on Sunday afternoon. Beaches – The beautiful beach which the Sandals Whitehouse hotel is situated on is just five minutes’ walk away and open to the public. There are also a number of lovely small beaches within a 15 minute drive that the staff can direct you to, ranging from secluded spots with nobody on them to beach parks that are popular with locals on weekends and public holidays. The famous seven mile beach of Negril is just an hour’s drive away. Belmont and Bluefields - These two beautiful neighbouring fishing villages have white sand beaches, good seafood restaurants and a laid-back vibe. The large Bluefields Bay was the departure point for pirate Henry Morgan when he set sail to sack Panama. Birdwatching – The nearby Bluefield Mountains are listed by Birdlife International as one of Jamaica’s ‘globally-important bird areas’. 20 of Jamaica’s 28 endemic bird species can be found here. Take a tour with an award-winning, experienced local guide, enjoy stunning views of the sea and see what you can see! Black River boat safari – The Black River is home to one of the largest populations of crocodiles in Jamaica. Take an unforgettable trip up the lovely river into a beautiful country wilderness. Enjoy the magnificent views and spot the crocodiles and many species of rare birds. River fishing trips are also available. Boat tours – You can be picked up from our private jetty and be taken on a boat tour to see dolphins near Treasure Beach, onto the Pelican Bar and then deep into the tributaries of the Black River. Bamboo Avenue, and Middle Quarters – Bamboo Avenue is one of the famous sights of Jamaica – a two mile ‘tunnel’ of overhanging bamboo. On the way home, stop at Middle Quarters to buy some freshly caught hot pepper freshwater river shrimp at the roadside. Fishing – Deep sea fishing trips can be arranged with experienced local fishermen who have rods and all necessary equipment. Golf – A golf course designed by Greg Norman is planned for Culloden within the next 18 months! In the meantime, if you are a golf fan, Montego Bay and Negril are home to a number of world class championship golf courses – all within one hour of Culloden Cove. Clubs are available for hire at all courses. Horse riding – Take a trip to the appropriately named Paradise estate and enjoy horse riding across an old plantation, along a deserted white sand beach and even through the sea. Lovers Leap - According to legend, two young lovers - slaves at a nearby plantation – threw themselves off the 2,000 foot cliffs into the sea rather than be separated by their owners. There is a lovely restaurant and bar on the spot with a large balcony to enjoy the stunning panoramic view. Montego Bay – Jamaica’s second-largest city is an hour’s drive away. A major tourist centre, the city has a beautiful white sand beach and a wide range of bars, restaurants and shops. Head for the public Doctor’s Cave beach. Montego Bay is also home to two of Jamaica’s best music festivals – the Jazz and Blues Festival in January and Reggae Sumfest in July. Negril – The world-famous seven mile beach in Negril is just an hour’s drive away along the beautiful coastline. This is where sun, sea and reggae really come together. Relax on the pristine beach in the day-time, enjoy the waterpark and other local attractions, and in the evening enjoy the delicious restaurants and great local music. Pelican Bar – Local fisherman Floyd had the vision to build a wooden bar on stilts, a mile off shore on a sand bar in the middle of the sea! You can be picked up by boat from Parottee on the mainland and enjoy a blissful few hours eating the freshest fish, lounging on their deck and snorkelling. Peter Tosh Mausoleum – The neighbouring village of Belmont is the birthplace of reggae legend Peter Tosh (Bob Marley’s partner in the Wailers). You can visit his home and mausoleum and meet his Mum. Restaurants – There are a number of good local restaurants near to the villa that serve delicious fresh seafood and good Jamaican food, made with local ingredients. Royal Palm Nature Reserve near Negril has been created to safeguard a vast wetland area home to many species of rare plants and birds. Dawn or dusk bird-watching and fishing trips are available. Sandals Whitehouse Resort - The luxury all-inclusive Sandals resort is a two minute drive away and boasts over a mile of white sandy beach. The resort also has eight international restaurants, a luxury spa, gym, tennis courts and the largest swimming pool in Jamaica. A wide range of water sports are on offer. Day and night passes are available. Treasure Beach - This laid-back community has become a hub for eco-tourism on the South Coast. Treasure Beach is a string of fishing villages with black-sand beaches and some excellent restaurants. Watersports - Sandals offer an extensive range of watersports including diving, kayaking and sailing. YS Falls – This stunning 120 foot, eight tiered waterfall is one the most famous sights of Jamaica. The refreshing rock pools are perfect for swimming while a zip-line rope slide tempts the more adventurous. A little further afield Little Ochi, Aligator Pond – The best restaurant in Jamaica! Not the flashest by any stretch, but if eating an amazing range of delicious fresh fish and seafood on the beach sounds appealing you will love it. Manatees – A small population of endangered ‘sea cows’ live in a wetland area, east of Culloden. These rare animals are thought to be the origin of the myth of mermaids. A trip to see the manatees up the lonely road connecting Alligator Pond and Alligator Hole is a truly unforgettable experience. Milk River Spa – A charming old hotel houses a spa where you can bathe in the hot waters of the mineral springs and benefit from their curative powers. Recommended day trips 1. Lovers leap  Little Ochi (for an early lunch)  Gut River (for a dip and some driftwood hunting)  manatees at Alligator Hole. A long but unforgettable day trip. 2. Midday Safari at Black River  Parottee Lunch, snorkel and sunbathe at the Pelican Bar. 3.
