Internet access is provided, as of course is all bed linen and towels, though guests are asked to bring their own beach towels. In each gite there is also a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and clothes airer. There is also a good selection of books and DVD's and a large selection of literature regarding places of interest and leisure facilities in the area, there are also a selection of board games and children’s toys . To complement the exceedingly high standard of internal accommodation, each gite has its own patio area with table and chairs and its own bbq. The patios each open out into an extensive fully enclosed garden with children's swings, slide and trampoline, table tennis table and Aladdin's Cave full of children's toys, bats and balls. The property is approached by a separate driveway, has ample enclosed parking, and is just as ideal for families with young children as it is for couples and friends who want this convivial atmosphere from which to enjoy the delights of Normandy.More

About the neighbourhood
Our nearest town is historic Carentan which is about 10kms from Sainteny with several supermarkets, banks, shops, cinema, swimming pool and railway station (route to Paris) and a popular market held every Monday. There are several Restaurants in the town. Carentan is called the “Capital of the Marais” because of its location at the heart of the marsh from where for centuries it has drawn its prosperity. The old town has been able to retain its rich architectural heritage dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, which is not to be missed.
How to get there
The village of Sainteny is situated approximately 45 minutes by car from the port of Cherbourg, one hour from the port of Caen, and approximately ten kms equi-distance between the towns of Carentan and Periers in the Manche region of Normandy. To reach Les Gites Champetres, as you pass through the village on the main road you will see the boucherie on one side of the road, and immediately opposite is a sign indicating D297 to Sainteny-bourg and Auxais. Take that turning, and after approximately 600 metres turn left at a sign indicating D543 to Ventigny. The driveway to Les Gites Champetres is the second entrance on your left, Oak Cottage is the first of the three cottages you come to.
