The sitting room has a huge stone inglenook fireplace and a log fire
The sitting room has comfortable seating & Freeview TV
Spacious cedar panelled dining room
The dining room also has a sofa and second TV
The kitchen has an oil-fired Rayburn for cooking, heating and hot water
The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, etc.
The double bedroom overlooks the peaceful courtyard
The second bedroom can be either king-size or twin using a ziplink bed
The third bedroom is a twin and overlooks the courtyard
The upstairs bathroom with bath and WC (there is a separate shower-room and WC upstairs)

We have lived in the area since 1997 and can advise the best walks, places to visit, restaurants, local attractions, etc. and show you them on an Ordnance Survey map (which you may borrow). We can help light the fire in your cottage, show you how to keep it going, and liaise with local businesses - and we usually have some special offers arranged just for our guests.

Challacombe is an ideal base from which to explore Exmoor and the north Devon and Somerset coast - within half-an-hours drive are the wide sandy beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde; the seaside resorts of Instow and Ilfracombe; the charming villages of Lynton and Porlock; the medieval towns of Dulverton and Dunster; scenic attractions Tarr Steps and The Valley of Rocks and the whole of Exmoor, with its amazing scenery and wildlife. With so little light pollution at night, Exmoor National Park was the first Dark Skies Reserve in Europe.

Recommended Directions:

1. From the Aller Cross Roundabout near South Molton on the A361, take the A399 signposted to Ilfracombe & Combe Martin.
2. Continue on the A399 for about 10 miles (past Brayford signposted to the right and Bratton Fleming to the left) and turn right along the B3358 towards Simonsbath.
3. Turn 2nd right after about 2.5 miles, signposted Four Cross Way (about 50 yards BEFORE the Black Venus inn).
4. Exmoor Cottage Holidays at Town Tenement Farm is about 250 yards (3rd five-bar gate) on the right hand side.
