About the neighbourhood
St. Ives, just wonderful. Plenty of golden sand beaches, Carbis Bay Beach is a clean and family oriented beach with a Blue Flag status. In Carbis Bay Hotel, open to non residents, you have a Spa, Restaurants, Bar, and Swimming Pool. On the Beach there is an open restaurant with live music most nights during summer. St. Ives has many beaches, from Gwithiam to Hayle is more than 3 miles of sand, then Lelant is about 1 mile long, and Carbis Bay is a private beach, plus Porthminster, Porthwidden, and Porthmeor in town. Art Galleries, Tate St. Ives, and a variety of restaurants and pubs. Tesco Supermarket is only a short distance from our apartment, about 5 minute walk.
How to get there
We recommend you to come by train. The travel is really pleasant, and we are just 5 hours away from London Paddington. There is a connection train at St. Erth (just before Penzance), where you take the local train going to St. Ives. There is a train station in Carbis Bay, and we are at 5 min. walking from the station, on a level footpath (To reach the footpath walk along the walls of Cottage Hotel all the way to the back of the hotel). Or take a taxi if the luggage is heavy. 90% of tourists come by car to Cornwall, so if coming by car, we advise you to come in the early hours to avoid heavy traffic along the A30. When coming by car, take the M4 (via Bristol) and M5 (via Exeter) , and then the A30 from Exeter. Follow signs to Launceston, Bodmin, Redruth, and Penzance. After Hayle, turn...
