A homely soulful place with Mediterranean like views from the wide and spacious balcony.....reminds me of the Amalfi coast especially Ravello...its the pines that do it! Would gladly live and die there, but then that's selfish and others need to experience this beautiful place.

About the neighbourhood
St Ives is described as a little slice of the Mediterranean, in the far west of Britain. There are dozens of art galleries in the town as well as the Tate, Barbara Hepworth Gallery, Bernard Leach Pottery, and restaurants and cafes serving fish straight off the boats. St Ives has a film set quality, the jumble of whitewashed, slate hung cottages climbing away from the fishing harbour; the white sands, palms and beach cabins of Porthminster Beach so reminiscent of the French Riviera and in complete contrast but just minutes away, the heavy surf and salt laden winds of Porthmeor Beach. There are boats to hire, galleries to visit, hidden coves to discover or just stop, stand still ad take in the roar and might of the Atlantic ocean.
Getting around
A gate at the bottom of the garden leads to The Coastal Path and it is a short walk to St Ives in one direction and Porthreptor Cove/ Carbis Bay in the other direction. Take the the train from St Ives or Carbis Bay to Lelant and Penzance and enjoy one of the most picturesque train journeys in Britain. In the summer take the open top bus from the Malakoff to Zennor and visit the church and the mermaid and then walk back along the coastal path to St Ives. Use the car to visit some of the amazing National Trust gardens.
