About the neighbourhood
From Mombaruzzo one can start many excursions in the surrounding areas, including the pre-alpine lakes and the Alps. Mombaruzzo is famous for its superior wines (Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato, Cortese), grappa, and Amaretti (soft almond cookies). Aperitifs, delicious cappuccini, scrumptious pizza and farinata, typical Piemontese cuisine and fine dining can be enjoyed in the several cafes, pizzeria, and renowned restaurants that dot this lovely village. The train station is a couple of Km down the hill and there is a bus service to Nizza, Alessandria and Acqui Terme. Torino is about 1 hour away by car. Genova and the Ligurian Riviera are about 1 hour away (by car), about 1.5 hour by train.
