A delightful, three storey, two bedroom house located in a small hamlet surrounded by the vineyards of the Languedoc.

The house, built in the 19th Century, has been sensitively renovated, making it a lovely, comfortable place to stay while retaining several original features including a wine press in the private courtyard, tiled stone staircase and a beautiful marble sink.

The courtyard which is accessed from the kitchen offers complete privacy and some shade - a great place to relax and sample the local food and wine (There are a table, chairs and a barbecue) . For sun seekers, there are steps to a roof terrace with lounger chairs.

The changeover day is usually Saturday however mid week to mid week rentals may be possible if they fit with current bookings. Weekend and mid week breaks may be also be available. We aim to be as flexible as possible to help fit with travel arrangements. Please contact me to discuss dates, availability and prices. Special rates can be negotiated for bookings over 1 week. If you have any special requirements not covered in this information please contact us to discuss as we will always try and accommodate requests where possible. A refundable security deposit will be required on booking and will be returned to you once the house has been checked for damage and breakages.

About the neighbourhood
The area is a wine lovers paradise; the vineyards of the appellation St Chinian meet the vineyards of the Minerve/ Herault at St Jean de Minervois (famous for Muscat), just 2 minutes drive or 10 minutes walk through the Garrigue or by road from Gimios.

Restaurants: Saint Jean de Minervois has a lovely restaurant the Auberge de LEcole which is the former village school. A great place for trying some traditional Languedoc dishes and sampling the local wines.

There are many great restaurants in Bize Minervois and St Chinian (both approx 15 minutes drive.) and also in many of the local villages.

The property is less than an hours drive from the airport and town of Beziers and less than 1 1/2 hours drive from the airports of Perpignan, Carcassonne and Montpellier. It can also be reached from Nimes, Toulouse and Girona although these are slightly further away. Ryanair fly to Beziers, Perpignan, Carcassonne, Nimes, Montpellier and Girona /BA fly to Toulouse/Flybe fly to Perpignan/Air France fly to Beziers via Paris/BMIBaby fly to Toulouse. The Eurostar/TGV goes to Beziers. You will need to hire a car to reach the hamlet and for visiting the area – cheap rates are available from the car hire firms at the local airports. A good website to look at that searches for the best deal is auto europe.
