Great Value Bungalow near the Forest
A last minute booking at this property proved worthwhile.
Situated at the top of a long hill through the village on the edge of Lydbrook (area called Worrall Hill), and 200 yards to a walking/bike entrance to the Forest of Dean. Be aware there are very few services in Lydbrook itself, and you'll need to travel for supplies. In the cottage was some condiments and coffee etc, but you'll need milk plus soap. However towels, tea towels, quilt covers and pillow cases, together with washing up liquid and washing powder are now supplied.
Large off road parking space for one car, plus I was able to store my cycle in the lockable garage. Large back garden and also a front garden, totally enclosed.
Property has every facility you'll need for your stay, including washing machine and dryer, and good wifi. Note indoor mobile signal (well for BT/EE) not that great. Only thing I thought the property lacked was somewhere to hang coats!
Overall recommended if you want a good base to explore the area's attractions such as the Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat.

Comfy and cosy
Lovely, peaceful rural location. Great for a comfortable, family get away. There are games for children and the kitchen is well provided for self catering. The owner was very kind and friendly.
Do take your own linen and towels though!

Comfortable, cosy stay
Our second stay at The Hollies, and another enjoyable stay.
This is described as basic, but we find it cosy, warm and comfortable... and incredibly clean too. I am sure we will return again - which says it all really.
Recommended if you want somewhere comfortable to stay to use as a base for exploring The Forest of Dean and surrounding areas.

Comfortable stay
We stayed at The Hollies for a long weekend. This was a really resonably priced break, so we were not expecting too much, but we were pleasantly surprised as a the accommodation was clean and comfortable. It is not a modern property, and I guess ideally could do with a bit of an udate but personally I think that all adds to charm and I am sure keeps the prices a little lower too. There is a warm welcome when you arrive and the bungalow was warm and well equipped.
It is dog friendly too - a huge bonus.

Fantastic holiday
We all had a fantastic time, the owners are very friendly. The bungalow was great it really felt like a home from home. Overall it was brilliant and we will definitely be booking again
