We've just finished our holiday at The Pavillion and couldn't have been happier. The house is beautifully decorated and all bedrooms were very comfortable and had lovely views. The garden was amazing for my toddler to play in and for sunny afternoons. Sandsend beach is wonderful; beautiful scenery and clean. We will be back in the future.

Booking is easy Anne the owner is both friendly and efficient. We were grandparents son and daughter partners and four grandchildren ranging from 3 to 9 two of whom have special needs. Located at the foot of Lythe bank Sandsend is a picturesque village with cottages set against a backdrop of cliffs and two meandering streams which lead to the sandy beach.

The beach featured as one of Britain's 20 best beaches by Telegraph Travel in July 2011, Sandsend beach is 'Set against a backdrop of grassy cliffs, where the wide sweep of beach from Whitby ends, this stretch is quieter and prettier than its famous neighbour. Children play in the little becks that flow across the sand and ducks waddle across the green in charming Sandsend village. This is a great place for fossil hunting at low tide.' Sandsend Beach is also a popular destination for surfers with the village having its own surf school for any aspiring beginners.

Sandsend is a coastal village in North Yorkshire 3 miles North of Whitby on the A174 which runs from Thornaby-on-Tees to Whitby. The popular seaside town of Scarborough is a 35 minute drive South via the A171. The historic town of York is a 48 mile drive away via the A169 and A64. The famous university town of Durham is 60 miles away via the A171 from Whitby and the A19. A regular bus service runs through the village from Middlesbrough to Whitby.
