Thanks Duncan, stayed for 3 nights and had a brilliant time. Beautiful cottage, with beach a couple of minutes from our door. Really enjoyed following the coastal path to the castle and then back through the car park to Sandend. Cottage clean and with everything you might need. Will definitely book again.

Beautiful cottage that ticked all boxes for our family. Very relaxing and comfortable - we really enjoyed the beautiful art work and the lovely log fire. We are regulars at Sandend Campsite and it was a lovely change to be in the village and so close to the sea. Can now look forward to visiting Sandend all year round. Would...

What more can you ask for returning from the beach with your family after an early morning surf to a lovely cottage snuggled into the harbour at Sandend. No. 25 has everything you need with a large open plan living area, well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Thoroughly recommended as a great get away from it all cottage. The moray...

About the neighbourhood
Both Portsoy and Cullen have several shops eg. small supermarkets, bakers, newsagents, post offices, pubs, cafes, eateries and antique shops. Banff and Buckie being larger towns have a greater selection. Elgin, Inverness and Aberdeen being much bigger again will offer a greater variety of attractions. Elgin, (40 mins.), Inverness and Aberdeen both about 1hr 30mins from Sandend. (approx.) by car.
Quaint coastal villages eg.Crovie, Pennan, Portknockie, Findochty, etc., etc., are well worth a visit. There is an excellent Tourist Information Centre in Banff.
Getting around
There are several coastal walks which may be attempted from Sandend Village, eg. West to Cullen passing on the way, the ruins of Findlater Castle, Sunnyside Beach, etc. East to Portsoy crossing Sandend Beach.
Having your own transport is by far the best way to explore this fantastic coast.
There are many interesting attractions inland too, eg. Whisky Distilleries, Galleries, Historical sites, etc.
Remember to take your camera or phone to capture where and what you've discovered.
Car recommended
How to get there
A motor vehicle is essential. If you fly in to Scotland I would suggest that you rent a car ( Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Inverness Airports. eg. Glasgow Airport is about 200 miles from Sandend. ) I can easily suggest and plan a route for you if required. There is a bus service, (stops on main road at the top of the village), which travels along the coast, A96, West to eg. Elgin, Nairn or Inverness, or East to eg. Banff, Fraserburgh, Peterhead or Aberdeen. There is a taxi service based in Portsoy, 3Miles.
Parking is not a problem at the cottage eg. alongside the sea gable, to the side and also to the rear.
Activities nearby
Fishing Nearby, There Is A Golf Course Within 30 Mins Drive, Watersports Nearby.
