Welcome to Holly Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals.

Holly Cottage is a beautiful Cotswold stone cottage, located on a quintessentially English lane in the small village of Old Minster Lovell. The pretty village looks much the same as it did over a century ago, sitting peacefully by the River Windrush, with its traditional properties containing a mixture of thatched and Cotswold stone roofs. On the edge of the village, close to Holly Cottage and next to the beautiful Church of St Kenelm, are the extensive ruins of Minster Lovell Hall, a 15th century manor house. Old Minster Lovell also has a lovely pub, situated on the banks of the river. The village is perfectly located for exploring the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds, as well as for visit...

Utterly charming. We were blessed with weather so have barbecued for 3 days and not left the cottage, apart from to pick up essentials. We bought a paddling pool and have been relaxing in the garden for 72 hours. Amazing. Will be back asap!

About the neighbourhood
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone 'wool churches'. The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
Getting around
The Cotswolds is a rural location and whilst there is access to public transport, it is highly recommended that you have a car.
