The house has been lovingly restored to retain all the character of the big old cortijo and ensure a high level of comfort. There are high beamed ceilings, comfortable bedrooms and large luxurious bathrooms. The big main kitchen is designed to make your self-catering holiday easier if you are a large group with restaurant-grade cooker, big fridge and a dishwasher - and there is a further family kitchen too. Because you might want a night off from cooking or would like dinner ready when you arrive home from a trip, catering is also available.
Outside, you'll find fresh eggs from El Molino del Conde's chickens, fresh herbs from the kitchen garden, pomegranate, fig, peach, almond and walnut trees, sun terraces, private swimming pool, large shaded dining areas, picnic spots next to the stream, a vine-covered courtyard and large private grounds where children can run around safely.
As well as 3 acres of gardens, El Molino del Conde also has a multi-sports court - a 3/4 size tennis court also suitable for badminton and volleyball - and a heated indoor studio for pilates, yoga, indoor cinema and art classes. Locally there is walking, cycling and horse riding and we can arrange visiting massage and beauty therapists.

We booked the finca for a yoga retreat and there were 15 of us. We felt comfortable and at home from the very first minute. The house is a dream and you don't want to leave. The communication with Nick, Amanda and Kimberly is fast, reliable and very friendly. Nothing is missing in the house. Kimberly even got us a paella pan.
The house is centrally located and very quiet to make beautiful trips to Malaga, Granada or surrounding small towns. One evening we booked two women from the nearby town to cook for us. It was a fantastic tapas dinner. We can only recommend every guest to book such an evening.
We definitely want to come back. The photos of the finca are already beautiful, but it is even more beautiful in nature. Many thanks to Nick, Amanda and Kimberly for letting us stay here

Charming country house for a restful and slow living vacation
The house is full of countryside charm, decorated with taste and must be lovely with nice weather. All the facilities are generously furnished ti fit large groups of people.
The kitchen, while rustic, is the heart of the house and genuinely provides for professional grade cooking; it is very generously equipped, plenty of everything available, we were 20 and had every meal in the house for 5 days.
On a less positive note, the location is quite remote and access is not suited for all cars, we struggled with ours and scratched the bottom every single time we left the house, also there is very weak wifi and mobile connections, forget working remotely and no TV signal either. All in all, it makes for total digital disconnect!
Some of the beds need renovation and it is definitely not adapted for people with reduced mobility.

Well worth the wait & everything we hoped for!
We had originally booked El Molino del Conde for a large group of friends holiday at Easter 2020, but this was inevitably cancelled due to the pandemic & after a further cancellation in 2021, we eventually made it this year & wow, it was worth the wait! The house, gardens, pool & surroundings were everything we had hoped for & we immediately settled in, helped in no small way by the welcome & excellent presentation of the house by Kimberley & her team, not to mention the lovely cats! We also must thank Nick & Amanda for their earlier flexibility in readily accommodating the changes of dates for our visit (twice) caused by the abnormal circumstances.
We had also arranged via Kimberley for two local ladies, Gracia & Lola, to cook for us all on the first night & what a great decision this was too, with the fantastic food they provided (including requested vegetarian options) ultimately lasting us two days - it was all so good in fact we asked them to cook for us again later in our stay.
El Molino is in a lovely, peaceful location & the bird watchers among us had a great time spotting the golden orioles, magpies & hoopoes + the occasional bird of prey circling high above us. The local goat herd visiting more than once also added to the relaxed atmosphere (their minder also appreciated the cold beers, we think!) & when we could summon up the energy to drag ourselves away from the lovely pool area, we were able to enjoy several (quite competitive!) games of boule & the odd game of tennis or table tennis. Although our group was in the main of the "senior" age category, the house is so well equipped to cater for all age ranges & tastes, with a few nicely secluded areas for a spot of quiet reading, if wished.
El Molino is also well placed for visits to Seville, Cordoba, Granada etc & twice during our stay we made use of the services of the excellent minibus company, recommended by Kimberley, to avoid too much driving, although a few times we also drove ourselves to nearby Iznajar, on a spectacular hilltop location overlooking the lake.
The character of the old buildings at El Molino has been beautifully preserved by the owners & the taller ones amongst us quickly learned to duck through the various low doors, where necessary, although the occasional crack on the head did serve to remind us that we were there for an all too short stay & it was with no little sadness that we took our leave of El Molino after 10 wonderful days!
We would highly recommend everything about El Molino for a large group holiday & would love an excuse to visit again!

Beautiful setting but needs money spending on it
We had an amazing family holiday and have made memories that will stay with us forever. Needs new outdoor furniture and new sofas. Throws can only hide so much. I would hate to think what we would have done if the weather was bad.
Pool was lovely but I do think the chlorine was a little strong as all the children ended up with chapped sore faces.
The stream was actually fermented mud and the smell sometimes was unbearable.
Not sure what happens when they do the yoga retreats as the gym/studio is a bit of a mess and smells of damp!
But all in all it has a charm about it and the grounds are beautiful

Outstandingly perfect - dont hesitate!
Literally don’t know where to start. This place is a little slice of heaven that you just wouldn’t even dream was behind the front door. My husband and I live in New Zealand and we booked El Molino for a week in October to hold our wedding with friends and family travelling from all over the world. We just couldn’t fault it – it was magical. We had some trepidation as obviously we didn’t even get to see the venue before the big day but we had researched the place so much and the reviews were outstanding so we went with our gut and boy we were NOT disappointed. Amanda and Nick the owners, were so easy to communicate with in terms of booking and any questions we had but the real star of the show was Kimberly, who manages the house (and others in the area) – nothing was too much trouble and she literally ran the show – we cant thank her enough. From beautifully decorating the property to look so gorgeous, to picking up some bridal flowers for me and pins for the buttonholes which I had forgotten. From arranging the catering and set up, she over saw everything on the day and it ran like clockwork – no word of a lie NOTHING went wrong and I couldn’t fault anything she did. It was PERFECT. I will be forever grateful to her for our magical day and week with our friends and family. It was the most magical day! We had so many comments on how it was the best wedding people had ever been to which made us feel so proud! I could go on all day but hopefully I have said enough If you are thinking about booking this place for your big day or event or just a holiday – don’t even hesitate, its perfection! We plan to go back one day for our anniversary – we cant wait. Thank you Amanda, Nick and Kimberly for EVERYTHING.

perfect family holiday venue
We have just returned from a wonderful extended family holiday at El Molino and I can't recommend it highly enough. We were a group of 18 ranging in age from 5 months to 76 and it managed to suit all of us. The location is superb and he house is charming and very comfortable .... the kitchen in particular is large and very well equipped so several people can cook at the same time without it being a problem. The pool isn't large but big enough for even such a large group to enjoy with plenty of shady seating areas around, and a large extended garden so we never felt on top of each other. We were there when it was very hot with temperatures in the 30s but there was enough shade for it not to be a problem.
The icing on the cake as far as our 8 year old grandson was concerned were the chickens and being able to collect fresh eggs each day.
We booked direct with the owners, Nick and Amanda who were most helpful while Kimberley, the house manager, was lovely, fielding all our questions and making our stay go really smoothly.
I would heartily recommend El Molino for a large family holiday.

Fantastic wedding venue
We had our wedding in El Molino in April and could not recommend the house highly enough as a venue for a wedding or any celebration.
The house and grounds are so beautiful and very well maintained.
Kimberly, the house manager and wedding planner, surpassed all of our expectations. She helped us with the planning from food to flowers and local vendors- she couldn't do enough for us. She was such a pleasure to work with and really helped us feel at ease.
On our wedding day everything ran so smoothly and exactly as we had hoped. The food was gorgeous, the staff were excellent (everyone commented on how efficient and friendly they were) and Kimberly had everything in hand.
We had an absolutely amazing day with our friends and family.
The next morning the venue was back to ship shape for a second day's festivities in no time at all.
If you are thinking about getting married or hosting a celebration at El Molino we would say absolutely go for it - you won't regret it.
Our guests are already asking if we can all return to mark our anniversary!

Dear Laura and Gary,
We're delighted that everything went well! Congratulations again on your wedding. The team loved having you all there.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review El Molino, and of course for booking us in the first place. We would love to see you again.
With warm best wishes,
Nick, Amanda and Kimberley

Amazing venue, great accommodation perfect for Pilates retreat
Amazing venue in a quiet valley with outstanding views, beautiful grounds and the accommodation is top class and the rooms large and comfortable. There are shared rooms and a few singles and it worked beautifully for our Pilates retreat. On a personal level as the organiser Kimberley, the manager was fantastic - helpful, kind, patient and incredibly professional. I would highly recommend the entire package.

Fabulous stay
Our 2 week family holiday was a delight at El Molino del Conde. The numerous spaces inside and outside mean everyone can have space and peace if they want it. The house is very well equipped. The pool, though small, is really lovely and very clean and well maintained. the areas around the pool are fabulous. Boules, badminton and table tennis all great fun and the surrounding hills and rolling countryside are lovely. The chickens are amazing layers - what a treat to have such fresh eggs from such happy looking chickens. The house has been renovated very thoughtfully and is full of character and charm.

'A wonderful place and a great location to explore Andalucia. A beautiful home in beautiful countryside. A perfect paradise – we loved every careful detail. You have created a beautiful retreat in a fascinating part of Spain. We have had an idyllic week here'
From El Molino, you can walk up the valley between the olive groves to buy fresh vegetables from the local market in Villanueva de Tapia and enjoy tapas in one of the bars.
Visit the local hilltop village of Iznajar with its ruined Moorish Alcazaba and the church of Santiago set above the large lake of the Embalse de Iznajar orsoak up the atmosphere in local towns such as Archidona, Montefrio and Antequera.
There is beautiful local walking, cycling and horse riding and you can also visit El Torcal limestone natural park, El Chorro gorge, the Sierra Nevada, Sierra de Rute,Sierra de la Subetica and the beaches of Marbella, Nerja, Malaga.
