Le Grand Maine is situated just 1 km from the village which has a bakery and there are excellent restaurants close by. Villeneuve-de-Duras is in the Lot et Garonne, a few miles to the south of The Dordogne and close to the Gironde Department, making it an excellent base for exploring this beautiful area. The region has literally thousands of chateaux to view and is dotted with lovely medieval villages and bastide towns with superb gastronomic markets most days.

The region is most famous for its Prunes, Foie gras and of course, wine. With the growing regions of Bergerac, Bordeaux, St Emillion, Monbazilliac, Pomeral and Cote de Duras, you will never go thirsty with lots of opportunity for tasting and buying. Just come back from Grand Maine Gite after a wonderful few days away with friends, the Gite was everything we wanted and more with the facilities it offers set in lovely grounds with the addition of a heated swimming pool. Just spent a fabulous holiday at Le Grande Maine. The gite is perfect and has everything you could wish for, even down to the heated swimming pool. Owners Jan & Andy made us very welcome and we benefited greatly from their knowledge of the local area . We will defiantly be going back .

The location and accommodation was excellent for our family. We enjoyed exploring the local area and then relaxing by the pool. Jan and Andy really looked after us and cannot recommend this holiday enough. We are not a family that ever returns to the same area / resort where we have previously holidayed but this will definitely be the exception!

Our aim has been to provide accommodation we would be delighted to stay in ourselves if it were our holiday. Therefore, we have tried to make the accommodation comfortable and welcoming.

Prices are based on max occupancy of 6. A CHARGE OF 1.20 Euros PER ADULT PER NIGHT FOR ADULTS OVER 18 WILL CHARGED FOR GOVERNMENTAL TAX SEJOUR- THIS CHARGE WILL BE PAYABLE IN CASH UPON ARRIVAL ; The weekly rentals are for the house and swimming pool and include all utilities except telephone.
Bed linen and towels are provided. Hair dryer provided.
A deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking, the full balance required 8 weeks before the commencement of the holiday.
POOL HEATING CAN BE PROVIDED FOR AN EXTRA CHARGE OF £100 PER WEEK

The local town is the Chateau town of Duras which is excellent for general shopping. There are also restaurants, supermarket, bars, banks, bakers, butchers and petrol stations. in both Ste Foy la Grande, Bergerac and Marmande.

There are numerous markets at all the local towns at various times through out the week, so you will never go hungry!
Getting around
If your stopping for a week or more we suggest rent a car at the airport, Taxis are available if you arrive on foot etc, the local roads are very quiet even in high season, biking is very recommended as there is so much to see.
