About the neighbourhood
The village of Le Paradou lies just south of the magnificent Alpilles range of mountains in the valley of 'Baux de Provence'. It’s close to the slightly larger village of Maussane, where you will find a larger selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Olive groves and vineyards line the country roads leading to the village, surrounded by spectacular views of the mountains. The village is a small quiet working agricultural village and offers the visitor a unique taste of Provençal life.
Getting around
Le Paradou sits at the heart of the Olive Oil producing area and many of the surrounding villages offer mill tours and tasting of locally produced oil. Just 15Km away you can visit St Remy-de-Provence, famous for its Roman architecture and Les Beaux, with its ruined castle and unique rock formations, is just up the road. Further afield but within easy reach are Pont du Gard, Avignon with the Palace of the Popes, Marseille with its famous waterfront, the Amphitheatre at Nimes and the cultured avenues of Aix-en-Provence. For the nature lover there is the Camargue including an ornithological park.
