About the neighbourhood
Ronce-les-Bains, one of the first seaside resorts. It is Dr. Brochard, a Parisian doctor born in La Rochelle in 1801 who gave him his nobility in Ronce-les-Bains. In 1862 he wrote a brochure 'Sea Baths at Tremblade' which contributed to the development of the station. The development of Ronce began really from 1890 when it noted some 200 bathers already indulging in the pleasures of a pleasant holiday. The tranquility, the beauty and the safety of the site have only conquered new followers and thus strengthen the image of the resort which has since developed regularly to become the charming seaside resort that it is today.
