Why Glamp when you can Cwtch? Our dog-friendly, compact studio-style retreat is situated between the popular beaches of Llangrannog and New Quay, making an ideal base for a short break. Stroll through wooded valleys to the coastal path, then warm your toes in front of the woodburner when you return. Victorian iron double bed, upcycled vintage furniture, en-suite shower room, microwave, kettle, fridge and toaster. Initial bread, milk, tea and coffee are supplied, so you can make a simple breakfast before you set off to explore our beautiful countryside and beaches. The Cwtch At Caerwedros has more info...Plus lots more reviews on our TA listing under New Quay. We like to think of The Cwtch as a simple cosy base for anyone who wants to investigate the amazing Ceredigion coastline. My favourite translation of the uniquely Welsh word 'Cwtch' is 'A warm affectionate hug, cuddle or snuggle that gives a feeling of a safe place or home'. There aren't all the cooking facilities of a holiday cottage, but we think the annexe is far more Glam than Glamping, with inbuilt hygge! A comfy Victorian iron & brass double bed, a romantic woodburning stove for heating, plus facilities for making tea & toast, a microwave for heating food and a small fridge/freezer. The Cwtch has an en-suite shower, loo and hand basin with hot and cold running water. Not a compost toilet in sight! A bag of logs and kindling is provided for every night booked; more can be bought locally as you require. Bedding supplied (high quality white cotton bedlinen and feather duvet), 1 bath towel provided per guest, plus hand towel and tea towel. Please bring your own beach towels. Facilities available: Off-road Parking space next to the annexe (standard car/estate car). Fully enclosed area of garden adjoining annexe. Public footpath adjoining annexe for walking dogs, more footpaths locally. Wifi is available, but speed is limited due to rural location (ok for accessing web, emails etc). Mobile signal is patchy, some 4G. 2 Village shops and pub 20 mins walk from The Cwtch We aim to be here to welcome guests when possible and live on-site so are available to give advice regarding local things to see and do. The Cwtch is in our garden, with a shared gate and path. Maps and guidebooks available. Well behaved dogs on leads welcomed (max 2) - we have cats so no cat chasing please! In order to make it possible to keep nightly rates low, a charge of £15 per booking cleaning charge is applied. The area around us: We are close enough to the many fantastic beaches for you to easily enjoy swimming, surfing or simply feeling the sand under your toes, yet not in one of the bustling beach villages which can get very busy during the high season. We are close to the sea and coastal path (less than 2 miles), with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. There is a wide range of local wildlife including seals and dolphins (seals pup on local beaches in the Autumn), so don't forget your binoculars! The cafe at Cwmtydu does a great bacon roll for elevensies to get you fuelled up for the day, but check with us that it is open outside the holiday seasons. Walkers can see all of the beautiful Ceredigion coastline, as we are perfectly placed midway on the sweep of Cardigan Bay. Amazing views right up to the Llyn Peninsula, and South to Cardigan Island. We are just a short drive from the stunning beaches of Tresaith, Mwnt, Aberporth and Poppit Sands. Clear, dark skies allow you to enjoy stargazing with no local light pollution - we regularly see the Milky Way. Fantastic walking, kayaking, surfing and mountain biking are all on our doorstep. If you are a National Trust member remember to bring your membership card to enable free parking at Penbryn and Mwnt beaches. The kayaking and slalom centre at Llandysul is a 20 minute drive away. Eating out: Our local pub is just a 20 minute stroll from The Cwtch, and there is a wide choice of places to eat locally including breakfasts and brunches, traditional fish and chips, ice creams and coffee on the beaches at Llangrannog and New Quay. Alternatively try pub grub at many of the numerous places we can recommend, many of which are dog friendly. Good restaurants are also plentiful. Local shops are a short drive away for any essential items. Browse the antique, craft and coffee shops in the friendly little town of Newcastle Emlyn, about 20 minutes drive from us, or visit the University town of Aberystwyth for the day for a large selection of independent and high street shops. There are regular buses along the coast road linking Cardigan, Aberporth, Lampeter and Aberystwyth. There is a bus that travels through the village which travels to local towns and beaches during Summer months only, but trips must be carefully planned! A car or bike is required to best explore as much as possible of our beautiful part of the country during a short break.More

Interaction with guests
The Cwtch is a self-contained annexe in our garden, near to our house. Guests are welcome to use the fenced area of garden surrounding The Cwtch to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. We live on-site and share access via the gate and path. When at home, we are happy to offer advice about local places to visit and things to do. Search for The Cwtch At Caerwedros. Please note: The powerful 8kW Charnwood woodburner is the sole source of heating. However once the fire is lit in the evening, The Cwtch gets toasty and keeps cosy during the night and into the morning as the building is well insulated and has double glazed windows. The shower is electric and the hot water supply is also electrically powered, giving instant hot water as required.
