Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Filthy.
We were so excited for this trip for my partner’s 40th birthday. However, when we arrived we realised the property was filthy. There were cobwebs everywhere, dead flies over the floor, along with a deas fly on the pillow on the bed. The bed also had a long black hair & stain on it. Generally, it was not clean and we didn’t feel comfortable staying. The owner reassured us the cleaner had been that day and after we contacted Best of Wales to report the complaint, offered for the cleaner to return to the property at some point that evening, leaving us to sit in the car for several hours & with it being the exact same cleaner we had little faith the property would be any cleaner. Wasted £400 on 2 nights, with no refund offer from owner so currently going through complaints process with Best of Wales. Sometimes supporting local small businesses isn’t always the best. Save your money & book anywhere else- we’ve stayed in premier inns for much cheaper & cleaner! Won’t let me upload more than 2 pics.

Great little getaway (despite the weather)
Having seen the cabin win the 'cabins in the wild' competition on Netflix we thought it would make a great stay for a birthday getaway, and some star watching. The show (and comments on here) made it clear the cabin was a maximum of 5m by 2m) but its layout means it feels pretty spacious for that size (given it has ensuite facilities). We had pretty stormy weather but the cabin was cosy anyway, and not as loud as Might have been expected (given its size/large glass windows). The hot tub was clean and up to temperature (when we got a gap in the rain). The onsite shared communal space (with seating and wood fired pizza oven) was really helpful for entertaining ourselves (we had a jogsaw puzzle to complete and it would have been a challenge in the cabin (no real large solid flat worksurfaces- and we did think about doing it on the floor, but plenty of flat surfaces in the communal areas, (under cover) and as we were the only ones there it made sense. The welcome basket of local treats was a lovely touch.

Awful, please don’t book!
My husband and I booked this as a treat for our anniversary, when we arrived we were instantly disappointed. The window was left open to dissipate the musty smell and the cabin is tiny, nothing like the online photos that make it look roomy. We had booked a treat and decided to have a treat so we found a lovely hotel in nearby Aberaeron. Please don’t make the same mistake as us! We contacted originalcottages.com who we booked with and they were useless and offered us nothing.

Romantic getaway
My partner and I stayed in the Dragon’s Eye Cabin 30th March-2nd April 2021. It was spectacular. The best bit was just how secluded and peaceful it was. Farm life (lambing season) was happening around us and we were able to just relax. Off the grid. All cwtched up and cosy in our little cabin. Also a convenient location for the beautiful coastal walks West Wales has to offer. We would certainly recommend to couples who just want some quality time together. Chloe and Rachel :)

Perfect Weekend Away
Myself and my boyfriend very much needed this mini break before Christmas as we had both been working extra hard and not much time for each other! The accommodation was absolutely perfect with an amazing views! Everybody in the comments book had written about the pony's and we didn’t think we would see them until we were talking one morning and they appeared at the fence!! We spent hours and hours playing monopoly in front of the fire & in the games room (the boyfriend was delighted that he won at everything over the weekend). We visited New Quay & Lampeter eating at The Pepper Pot Bar & Grill & Shapla Tandori which I would recommend highly! We will definitely be back!
