Pear Tree Cottage is located just 100 yards from the quayside, in the centre of this busy village which is often referred to as an early days Padstow. The cottage is situated within a private courtyard, along with our other two cottages (Apple Tree Cottage & Mulberry Tree Cottage). The cottage has easy access to all amenities of the village, including six pubs, restaurants, supermarket with delicatessen, post office, news agency, arts and craft shops, art galleries and museum.

Pear Tree Cottage is entered directly from the courtyard into the slate floored lounge furnished with two leather armchairs and a sofa, TV/DVD, bluetooth music speaker. We stayed in the cottage over Xmas 2017. The cottage is large, warm and very comfortable. There is a secure garden (terrier - proof). Paula left a very generous hamper full of treats. We spent a fabulous week in Pear Tree Cottage. It would be really difficult to find fault with any aspect of our accommodation - excellent hosts, cosy, spotlessly clean and well equipped characterful cottage. A charge of £20 per dog per week or part week will be made.
30% of the weekly rate will be required as a non-refundable deposit to secure a booking.
All bookings must be paid for in full at least 6 weeks prior to arrival date.
We accept payment by cheque, bank transfer or Paypal.
Short breaks are available during off peak times and on occasion during peak times. In general, changeover days for a 3 night short break would be either a Saturday or Wednesday and changeover days for a 4 night short break would be either a Saturday or Tuesday. This may vary around Christmas and Easter.

About the neighbourhood
Appledore itself is a small fishing village that sits at the estuary of the Taw and Torridge river. It has attractive walks along the quay and towards Bideford or Westward Ho! using the footpaths. The quay is actively used by boat owners.

Hidden within its quaint cobbled streets there are a number of interesting art galleries. Appledore is such a busy village it even has its own festivals throughout the year - Visual Arts Festival in May, Regatta Week and Carnival in August and the acclaimed Appledore Book Festival in September.

The village is about 3 miles from Bideford & 10 miles from Barnstaple. There are many attractive areas in the surrounding countryside: Clovelly; the famous picturesque fishing village is 10 miles away. Lundy Island can be visited by ferry from Bideford....
