Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Cosy winter break
Lovely 2-night stay whilst visiting Longleat and their "Festival of Light". The Lodge was really modern, lots of space for a family of 5 and had everything we needed. The christmas decorations were a really lovely addition! The setting was beautiful, although we didn't get to see as much as we'd like with the dark winter evenings, but the cosy Lodge made up for that! Our Lodge, Farleigh, had a fully stocked kitchen, complete with a fresh loaf, milk, eggs & butter; as well as tea and coffee. Had we been staying longer, some more cupboard space for food would be useful but everything we needed to cook and evening meal and breakfast was there! Everything was clean and tidy and in good condition, the underfloor heating was great! I'd love to experience it in summer to use the huge deck that spans the full width of the Lodge! It's a perfect base for exploring all the area has to offer, Longleat of course, and we also managed to spend a few hours in Frome which is well worth a visit. We hope to visit BytheByres again and stay longer next time!

Well located - a very pleasant stay
We stayed for a week. The weather was wet at times but even so this is a good location and very handy as a base for touring around North Somerset. The lodges are modern, warm and pleasant to stay in within picturesque surroundings [and the COVID pre-cleaning seemed thorough]. We were in Nunney which is probably the best located lodge at the rear of the property [though they all looked fine]. Dealing with the owners before we got there was efficient [our original booking was delayed because of lockdown]. We are "older" holidaymakers but we saw plenty on the site which would encourage us to bring our grandchildren at another time - the place seems well geared to children [though the ponds mean some supervision is needed].

Stayed for a month! From OZ visiting Relies over Xmas. Beautiful garden, great facilities, clean, comfortable and fresh. Warm! Away from hustle and bustle but so many things to see in the surrounding areas. Excellent for a family of 5!! Steve and Sally were great, helpful and laid back.

Nice cottage with a big lawn.
A nice place in the middle of the farmland nearby a lot of lovely villages eg. Bath and Salisbury. We enjoyed our stay in the cottage, we had enough space for 4 adults and 2 children. Well equiped kitchen, good beds and a little playgarden for the kids.It was a warm welcome to find eggs en fresh milk in the fridge!

About the neighbourhood
Less than three miles away is the vibrant town of Frome. With its historic buildings and beautiful independent shops, alongside a thriving contemporary arts scene, it has been highlighted as one of the ‘Best Places to Live in Britain’ by The Times. Frome is also the original Somerset Market Town, and this tradition continues today with regular weekly markets and, on the first Sunday of each month during the summer, ‘The Frome Independent’ - a mini festival bringing together the best artisan food and drink, artists and designers, local produce, plants, home wares and street entertainment. A ten minute drive takes you to the famous Longleat House and Safari Park for which we are able to offer our guests a 20% discount on One day tickets.
