There are also bus connections to Bath and the market town of Chippenham, both providing fast train links to London. For days out, Bristol, Westonbirt Arboretum, Longleat Safari and Adventure Park, Glastonbury, Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge, Tetbury and many more, are all within an easy hours drive. The Stables, with superfast WIFI, Smart TV and Smart Speaker, is a lovely relaxing place to return to after exploring the many attractions in the area. We can set up an additional small double bed in the main bedroom which would be suitable for an extra adult or two children. A well-behaved dog is welcome. An additional cost of £20 is to be paid on arrival.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

A lovely cottage in a friendly village.
The Stables at Daubeneys was perfect for our break. Louise had left us fresh bread, milk, butter, jam as well as tea and ground coffee for the cafetiere. Everything about the cottage was first class and spotlessly clean. The whole complex of Daubeneys is secure, so we could let our two little dogs loose in the orchard. Colerne is a lovely village with a well stocked shop and a post office that also sells local produce. The Fox and Hounds pub is directly across the road from Daubeneys and is a really friendly place where the locals make you very welcome. They serve a good menu of typical pub food at very reasonable prices and both the quality and quantity are exceptional. We were only there for 3 nights but will be back I am sure.

Our stay was amazing, Louise couldn’t do enough to help us and made us feel so welcome. The house was spotlessly clean with the most beautiful decor, we loved it. Fabulous location, great parking and had everything we needed. Will definitely be back! Thank you xx

Just Excellent
A Perfect place to stay with dogs. The whole village was warm and welcoming, made us feel like part of the community. The Cottage is spacious with a bedroom upstairs the kitchen and lounge was more than adequate. Louise even left some provisions for our arrival, which was thoughtful. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely relaxing break
We had a lovely 3 nights stay at the Stables. It was clean and tidy and nicely decorated and had all you need at the accommodation. Louise and Jim said hello when we got there then left us alone, the perfect hosts! We cooked pizza and chips on our first night , and found the oven and facilities easy to work , we used it as a base to see the area and found some nice places to visit. The bed was firm and comfortable but pillows a bit soft for our personal taste, fortunately we had brought our own v pillows with us which helped and I'm sure if we had asked they would have sorted some pillows for us. Large tv in lounge was nice for a change as most places only have a small one. The large shower was very nice with instant hot water. Over all it was a great short break , very pleased with it all.

Picture perfect, cosy countryside stay.
I can't rave about this stay enough. It was just what my husband, my son (1 Y/O), and I needed. The most beautiful, cosy accommodation, which remained true to the original beauty of the place, and had ALL the mod cons a family requires. It was pristinely clean and incredibly comfortable; the bed was divine, and the sofa was truly loungeable. Throw in the gorgeous surroundings and the most wonderful hosts, and well, we didn't want to come back to reality! We were fortunate with some gorgeous October sunshine and loved eating dinner at the bench out the front of The Stable with our little one. Would highly recommend! Great amenities for families - highchair and travel cot provided. Excellent. We can't wait to come back.

Snug , fully modernised historical property
The property is very well equipped, warm and comfortable. The accommodation is spacious with a large living area downstairs and a large bedroom upstairs. It is in the middle of Colerne which is a charming village. The nearby National Trust properties of Dyram Park and Lacock Abbey are well worth a visit and Bath with its amazing Roman Baths is not for away. Jim and Louise and very friendly and helpful hosts and we would highly recommend a stay in this lovely property.

Attentive hosts, delightful accommodation.
A delightful retreat located Colerne, a the quiet and friendly village surrounded by the picturesque Wiltshire countryside. The stables are well appointed with the living areas and renovated bathroom on the ground floor and an expansive bedroom on the mezzanine level. A comfortable king size bed complete with an electric blanket to snuggle in on those cold winter nights. The kitchen is well appointed so if you have exhausted all of the delightful takeaway and home delivery options in the surrounding area and a home cooked meal is what you hunger for, there will be everything you need to cook up an exquisite meal, or maybe just some pasta and sauce. Louise and Jim are excellent hosts. I found them to be very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. They went out of their way to ensure that I had a comfortable stay. A fresh artisan loaf, butter, jam, tea and coffee awaited my arrival which was much appreciated after a flight from Australia and the drive from Heathrow Airport. Offering pet friendly accommodation, Louise and Jim were also very patient and caring towards my little dog Lizzy who had also endured the long journey from Australia so was somewhat anxious around strangers. Although, Louise and Jim soon became her friends and it was not too long before she would disappear towards the back of the long house in search for them. I stayed for 11 nights at the Stables and enjoyed it greatly. Thank you Louise and Jim for your time and attention following my arduous relocation from Australia.

Thank you so much Diana for taking the time to write such a detailed and lovely review. We were so happy to help you, in a small way, with your big move from Australia and so glad the Stables offered you and Lizzy a good place to self isolate before starting your new job with the NHS. We hope you are both settling into your new lives in the UK! Louise and Jim
