The Byre comprises of a family room, an ensuite double room and an ensuite twin room, with extra capacity available on the sofa bed in the studio. Each bedroom has a wardrobe, dressing table, bedside cabinet, towel rail and digital television. Beds are made up for your arrival and towels and additional bedding are provided.
There is a modern open plan kitchen, dining and living room with French doors which open onto the patio with picnic table, allowing you to choose to eat inside or out. Between the months of March and June it is lambing time on the farm and guests are welcome to help feed the lambs. The Byre is ideally situated within Dumfries and Galloway for easy access to local attractions. There is lots to do in the area including walking, fishing, mountain biking, golfing and horse riding. In addition come and see local castles, art, gardens, wildlife and museums.
The Byre is classified as a Category 1 Disabled Access property under the National Accessibility Scheme.
Prices include linen, electricity and fuel for the underfloor heating and wood/ coal burning stove.
Open all year round.
Dogs are welcome at £10 per dog.

The quiet and tranquil nature of the scenic area is superb for walking. We have a walking leaflet with a series of seven walks, varying in difficulty and length, which start from the cottage door. The quiet roads are also superb for cyclists.
The unspoilt nature of the area is ideal for a variety of wildlife species to thrive. In the countryside surrounding the cottage you can spot red squirrels, roe deer, buzzards and red kites. We are close to the Dark Skies Galloway Forest Park and therefore the cottage is ideally located for star gazing. There are plenty of nature reserves in the area too, the Wildlife and Wetland Trust at Caerlaverock and RSPB Mersehead are close by. Esk Rigg at Lockerbie is the best place to be guaranteed to see red squirrels and the Red Kite Trail at Laurieston, wh...

The best way to enjoy the area and make the most of the activities on offer is via car, we have plenty of free parking.
