Escape to The Bell Ringer's Cottage – an ideal get away built around 1866 in Llandegla, one of four dressed stone cottages opposite the historic church of St Tecla and originally a workers cottage for Bodidris Hall. It sits just yards away from the well known Offa's Dyke foot path. Everything is provided to ensure you have all you need during your stay (full details provided)– just pack an overnight bag! The cottage is deceptively spacious and has retained many of its original features including beams, exposed stone walls and has been newly refurbished and furnished to a high standard. From the hall the staircase leads to a landing with two bedrooms one a double the second a twin and bathroom with double walk in shower and heated towel rail. It is only 2 miles to Coed Llandegla – the nationally known mountain bike centre. We have an outbuilding with 'oxford floor anchor' to secure mountain or road bikes to. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Fabtastic
We couldn’t have wished for a more homely and beautiful cottage. Carol made us all feel very welcome, including our mad Sproodle, Alfie. The cottage had everything we needed and the local Community Shop is literally a few houses up the road. We will definitely be back 😁

A little gem!
A lovely cottage, cosy and comfortable, right on the Offa’s Dyke path. We booked it for its proximity to great walks, to the Llandegla forest and to the local village, and found it is also a beautifully refurbished little house. Everything to a good standard and in full working order. A welcoming hamper of food and then very near to the well stocked local shop and the community café, both of which cater for vegetarian and vegan diets. The Crown offers evening meals too. A south facing little garden let us make the most of the lovely sunshine and the front outlook over the churchyard was very peaceful. We will visit here again.

Delightful cottage with many nice touches from the owner
The cottage is situated in the delightful community village of Llandegla, and in a truly relaxing rural setting. Plenty of country walks nearby in the relatively unknown but scenic Clwydian Range, and easy access to Snowdonia. Llangollen is nearby with its famous Eistedford. The cottage is charming, and Carol’s attention to detail and warm welcome are highly commended.

A Child's Christmas in Wales
We stayed here for Christmas. It had everything we could need to make it a magical experience. Our little girls were concerned Santa might not find them but he did. They hung their stockings on the pretty bed frames in their beautiful bedroom on Christmas Eve and woke to find them filled with goodies. Our dog, Saffy loved the fireside and we spent time relaxing in front of it ourselves. Bellringers cottage made a wonderful home from home for us while we celebrated the festive season with the rest of our family who stayed with my brother in the village. We recommend it whole heartedly.

Excellent
Could not speak highly enough of the owner Carol and this cottage. Everything we wished for was there, fully equipped, community shop next door, pub just down the road and everybody so friendly. Carol goes out of her way to ensure your every need is catered for and then some. There was a welcome pack of provisions, which came in very handy on the Sunday as we had just arrived from Australia and we didn't realise the kitchen at the pub closed at 5pm on Sundays, so we were able to whip up something to eat easily. Carol was not able to meet us on arrival, but we did catch up with her before we left and had a lovely chat. At Carol's suggestion, we went to historical town of Ruthin (where we heard Welsh being spoken by the townsfolk), Llangollen for horse drawn canal boat ride and stream train to Corwen and also would recommend Ladies of Llangollen house Plas Newyd, Chirk castle (wonderful eccentric architectural tour guide) and Erdrich Estate. Truly a wonderful introduction to Wales for these two Aussies.

What a great stay.
We had a great stay at The Bell Ringers cottage we were made to feel extremely welcome by the owner who gave us lots of information on our arrival. Llandegla is a very n8ce little village with a great sense of community this is very evident in the community store and cafe which is stocked with all of the essentials including local produce. The store and cafe is staffed by local volunteers who are extremely friendly and helpful. We had an excellent stay and would definitely go back.

Excellent
The Bell Ringers cottage is beautiful, every detail has been thought of from the lovely produce basket and goodies to the cupboard essentials. There are wonderful walks on the door step and the fantastic llandegla forest is a must. You are even supplied with a free car park pass which we made full use of . The cottage is next to a great community run shop that is well stocked with local produce and lovely coffee shop. We would recommend the Crown hotel, three Pigeons pub and The Druids Inn. Along with day trips to Chester, Mold and Llangollen . This cottage is just perfect 😀 We will definitely be back.

Everything you need in a cottage
Bellringers Cottage in Llandegla was a great place to stay-not only a beautiful cottage in a rural, friendly village but all the extras made for a lovely holiday.Carol has thought of everything-plenty of books, magazines , games, even telescope and binoculars! The welcome hamper was brilliant-enough in it to make a meal on your first night without having to shop.Community shop two doors up,well stocked and open every day.Unexpected extras in cottage include condiments, foil, kitchen roll and toiletries. Location of cottage very good for exploring North Wales, lots to see and do.
