About the neighbourhood
A few kilometres to the West is Chateau Peyrepertuse. It is visible for miles around. The name Peyrepertuse means 'pierced rock'. It is a Cathar castle built seamlessly onto the living rock. Even on the approach from Duilhac it is not easy to see where the rock stops and the castle starts. Several good restaurants surround the chateau and it makes a good place to visit.
