Quiet, right in the woods, by a lake. Spacious,cosy,warm. We had a lovely time and can't wait to return.

The Boathouse is truly amazing, perfect in fact.....I would completely recommend anyone to visit and enjoy all of the beauty and charm it has to offer.

About the neighbourhood
On the doorstep are miles of woodland walks, and all of Snowdonia National Park is available for trekking, rock-climbing and mountain biking. In Portmeirion's Italianate village, about 15 minutes away (where TV classic "The Prisoner" was filmed in the 1960s) is one of the best restaurants in Wales and dinner guests can access the village after the visitors have gone home. Castles of King Edward and the Welsh princes abound, nearest is Harlech, about 20 minutes drive and in a superb location. Caernafon Castle is also easily accessible and a short drive beyond is the Isle of Anglesey where Prince William is based at RAF Valley. . By Car: From London, the Midlands and the South, via M54 and Bala. From Liverpool, Manchester (and airport) and from the East and North, via Chester and Llandudno. From Ireland, via Holyhead and Llandudno. By train: use national rail to reach the Ffestiniog Railway, alight at Plas Halt (request stop!). From there it's a beautiful 15 minute walk on woodland tracks, we can give exact directions on request.
