We really appreciated the milk, bread and butter provided. The bed was very comfortable. We loved the Dorset Coast, especially Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. We had a lovely...

Sharon has thought of everything from the well equipped kitchen and bathroom to lovely welcome touches like milk, bread, coffee and tea. Beautifully appointed - bijou. The quiet was disturbed only by a regular motorbike. It was warm, clean and comfortable. Would come again to explore more of the area than we could manage in three days.

Management response:

Thank you Jane , Shame about the weather. It will be lovely to see you both again soon in sunny weather I hope ! Sharon

About the neighbourhood
The Engine Room is situated in Milton Abbas, a beautiful historic village in Dorset, England. The village is famous for its 36 'chocolate box' style whitewashed thatch and cob cottages and for being the first planned settlement in England. The village is set in a valley which is surrounded by woodland either side so perfect for country walks. At the bottom of the village is a pathway known as 'Monk's Path' which leads to Milton Abbey a stunning abbey which is open to visitors.

The village was commissioned in 1780 by Joseph Damer and originally had a bakers, blacksmith, brewery and a fire house, of which The Engine Room is part of and was where the fire engines were originally kept.

The setting is perfect for those who are looking to get away for the hustle and bustle...
