Accommodation is on the 1st and 2nd floors, with the old ground floor jail housing the office of Fife Historic Buildings Trust. The apartment has been sympathetically restored, retaining many period features. The rooms are furnished in keeping with the history of the building, while providing all the modern amenities you would expect.

There's a magnificent living/dining area on the 1st floor with floor-to-ceiling windows and 2 stone fireplaces, one with a gas-fired stove, a smart TV. A perfect space for the whole group to meet and relax. The carved, wooden dining table seats 6, and there are 2 large comfy sofas. Off this huge room is a well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are on the top floor.

The keys will be placed in a key lock box allowing guests to arrive anytime after check in. The Fife Historic Buildings Trust team are located in the office behind the Town Hall and are always hapy to meet guests that want to pop in to say hi. If guests are looking for information and reccomendations prior to the trip happy to answer any queries via email, or do what we can during the stay. In the apartment there is a welcome pack, brochures and leaflets with a range of activities, iteneries and brochures.

We very much enjoyed staying a few days in this beautiful and carefully restored historic apartment. The main room in particular is magnificent. Our sleep was broken however by the noise of sea gulls on the roof over the main bedroom in the early hours...More

About the neighbourhood
Kinghorn is a small town situated on the east coast in the Kingdom of Fife. The town benefits from a lovely quiet, sheltered beach only a few minutes’ walk from the apartment. At the other end of the town is Pettycur Bay - a long, wide stretch of golden sand which is excellent for walks and outdoor activities. Within the town there are several shops on the high street, which is again just a few minutes away. These include a baker, butcher, a Co-op supermarket, post office and chemist. There are also a number of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Various activities for the family close by or can easily jump on the train to visit Edinburgh or beyond to explore.
Getting around
Kinghorn Train Station is a 5-10 minute walk away from the apartment. The station is a stop on the Fife Circle, connecting Fife and Edinburgh. There are frequent trains daily. Some trains passing through travel to Dundee and Aberdeen, Inverkeithing and Kirkcaldy are busy stations and can generlly connect to other trains from here if required.

There is a bus stop around 10 meters away from the Town Hall, it is part of the Dunfermline - Leven Route. Main bus station in Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline to travel to alternative locations. If you have a smart device you can download the Scotrail, Stagecoach or Traveline Scotland if planning to use public transport.

Kinghorn is 24 miles from Edinburgh and easily reached by road. Airlines that fly to Edinburgh from other parts of the UK include Flybe, Easyjet, Ryanair and British Airways. There are several car hire companies at Edinburgh airport.

There is plenty of space for parking on the street outside Kinghorn Town Hall. Kinghorn railway station is only a few minutes walk away and provides easy rail access to Edinburgh and to the north.

There is a bus stop outside Kinghorn Town Hall, this is for the 7 Leven-Dunfermline route
