Free Wi-fi All linens, bedding, towels, kitchen cloths are included. Our compact (40m2), log cabin style, holiday lodge has all you need for a self catering holiday in South West Scotland. It's located in a private wooded setting amidst beautiful scenic countryside and has a spectacular sea view down the estuary. It is on the outskirts of the charming sailing village of Kippford so is just a short stroll from two friendly waterside inns serving good food and locally brewed ales and just a 20 minute walk to Rockcliffe along the famous Jubilee Path and several rocky coves and beaches. Constructed of real cedar the lodge has wood paneled walls giving it natural warmth and simple country charm. The country décor, accessorised with lavender bags, pot-pourri, pictures, rugs and wall hangings creates a practical, comfortable and welcoming interior. The living area features 'Fisherman's' style lanterns, English leather sofa, comfy armchairs and sea-grass rugs over an 'Antique Oak' easy-clean laminate floor. The country theme continues with damasks and botanical prints, tartan throws and cushions. The locally crafted wood-burning stove with slate hearth completes the cosiness of this rural retreat. Dogs welcome We welcome 1 medium or 2 small dogs at the lodge and we provide for their holiday needs: stainless steel water and food bowls, waste bags, hose for muddy paws, waste scoop for the garden and ball thrower. Dogs love the area for the great beach, forest, hill and coastal walks. Dogs are charged extra. PLEASE NOTE: The lodge is only suitable for two small dogs (for example Jack Russell or Cavalier Spaniel) or 1 medium dog (for example Collie, Springer Spaniel or Labrador). Sorry, but we can NOT accommodate 3 dogs or large dogs. In the interests of good housekeeping dogs should be wormed, flea and tick treated, and up to date with their vaccinations during their stay. They must also be house trained and past the chewing stage. Owners must make sure that their dogs do not go on furniture or in the bedrooms and that their dogs are not left unattended in the lodge (unless crate trained). Tariff for dogs: Dogs welcome by arrangement: 1 medium sized dog, or 2 small dogs at £5 per dog per night. Wi-fi is provided at no extra charge (however a fair usage policy is applied by the provider). The broadband speed achieved is dictated by the provider, rural location and line capability, so are outside our control - we do not accept responsibility for it’s speed or reliability. The wi-fi password will be on display in the lodge. Being timber the lodge is naturally insulated so the sustainable, eco friendly wood burning stove keeps the lodge cosy and warm. The bedrooms have programmable, thermostatic electric heaters, the bathroom has a low energy heated towel rail, hot water is on demand so does not waste valuable resources, and light bulbs are low energy. Wherever possible we make sure that cleaning products are eco friendly and 'Cruelty Free', this includes the complementary toiletries, eco friendly washing liquid and eco friendly washing up liquid. All the bedlinens, towels and kitchen towels are laundered using eco friendly and cruelty free laundry products. NOTE: As the lodge has a septic tank please bring only non-bio, eco friendly household products with you. Thank - you. Full booking Terms & Conditions for the lodge will be sent as an attachment. They are also available on our own holiday cottage kippford website or can be sent on request. They are also available in the lodge during your stay. By proceeding with a booking at the lodge you are confirming that you and all the members of your party agree to them.More

About the neighbourhood
Kippford is a picturesque waterfront village situated on the Colvend Coast where the Water of Urr meets the Solway. It's boat building history lives on through the local chandlery and yachts of the Solway Yacht Club which are moored in the estuary during the Summer months. A lively sailing regatta is held annually and cadet week provides educational fun for younger sailors. The village has two waterfront Inns serving good food and locally brewed ales, an interiors/gift shop that also serves coffee and cakes, a chandlery, it's own RNLI station, slipway, village hall, an artisan pottery and a nine hole golf course with tea room.
Getting around
A car is recommended, although a local bus service runs along the coast road and visits the local villages so is excellent for walkers to use to extend the range.
