Newnham-on-Severn, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England
Set in attractive rolling landscape of scattered communities and gentle hills overlooking the River Severn, this pretty conversion of a former cider barn is in a very favoured position.

The Cider Barn has been sympathetically converted and extended so that it is now a self-contained part of the Owners` house. It is bright and inviting with a surprisingly spacious feel and the outdoor areas have been thoughtfully arranged to provide attractive, private space for visitors as well as shared parts of the pretty grounds with fine views over the Severn to Gloucester and the Cotswolds beyond.

A great property in a super location. Many varied things around to do. The cottage was very well equipped and the owners couldn't have been more helpful.

About the neighbourhood
Twelve miles from Gloucester and on the edge of the Forest of Dean, The Cider Barn is excellently placed for visitors to take full advantage of the wide variety of amenities the area affords. For the historically minded there are the Border castles, Tintern Abbey and the cathedral cities of Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester; and for those keen on outdoor activities the choice is immense - walking on Offa`s Dyke, cycling or riding in the Forest itself and fishing or canoeing on the River Wye. Further afield but still readily accessible are the Cotswolds, the Malvern Hills and the Brecon Beacons. The property is also on the edge of woodland with easy local access to forest paths. The owners of the cottage keep hens (and a cockerel!) and several of the surrounding properties are smallholding... more
