About the neighbourhood
Żebbuġ is a small village overlooking the northwest coast of the island of Gozo. It is situated on two hilltop plateaus, Ta' Abram and Ix-Xagħra taż-Żebbuġ, giving residents unparalleled views of the surroundings.
The word Żebbuġ means 'olive trees', a crop for which the village is know for.. The areas around Żebbuġ have been inhabited for millennia, with Bronze Age and even older remains being found to the north in the form of Punic tombs.
Modern Żebbuġ retains it's old country charm, while still housing some of the best restaurants on the island. Qbajjar Restaurant specialises in Mediterranean cuisine, while those looking for traditional Gozitan pizza have to look no further than Francesco's located in the village square.
There is one main road which connects Żebbuġ with the Gozitan capital of Victoria, with bus route 309 passing by the complex every hour.
