If you are looking for the perfect "fake" Resort get away, with satellite TV, air conditioning, strategically placed palm trees and swim up bars, then this is not the place for you.
However, if you are open to staying in a quaint local house that is true to the area in design and feel, and natural vegetation, than this is a nice choice.
We were welcomed by the owners Steve and Rita whom we saw regularly with a warm hello, conversation, and offers to help where needed. The staff, Lookup, Sophie and her husband Nyon were always there with a smile and helping hand as well. Nyon even drove us around the island on a few occasions and we enjoyed our conversations with him. He was insanely accommodating, even when we did not make it home from Sunday School one night, he picked us up the next morning without hesitation.
The house is close enough to whatever you need, food, groceries, beach. It is on a hill, but all of the village is. Even though there is no air conditioning, each bed has a fan, and we found that sufficient. We enjoyed eating and visiting out on our deck, or with other guests staying below.
It’s not a hoity-toity , fancy new resort type location or house, but it is certainly nice, quaint, and comfortable with a friendly atmosphere, that suits the village visit perfectly!
