Interaction with guests
Upon arrival you will be met by ourselves or our housekeeper Rachael who lives nearby. We will hand over the keys, give you the wi-fi code & answer any Qs that you might have. We enjoy meeting our guests-sharing a beer or two & like to make everyone feel at home. When we have fresh fish we often invite guests to join us for an evening meal around sunset-Its a good way to meet people & to make new friends & watch the sun go down! We are also very active directors of the Castara Tourism Development Association which does a lot for the improvement of the infrastructure & development of the village as a very eco friendly destination for visitors & villagers alike.

Another return visit to Carpe Diem so that should tell you how special this place is. Wake up in the morning to spectacular views from your bed. In the evening it's lovely to watch the bird/wild life from the terrace with a G&T. So handy...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks in this clean and spacious apartment. Breakfast on the balcony was usually watched by, sometimes shared with, a host of tropical birds. Our hosts, Chris and Yvonne were exceptionally helpful with local knowledge and tips, both before and during...More

About the neighbourhood
Castara is a small friendly working fishing village on the Caribbean side of Tobago & on the edge of the Rain forest.
We have 2 sandy beaches, a waterfall, forest walks & several small shops, bars & restaurants all within a short walk.

Castara is centrally located so it is easy to take day trips to places such as Englishman's bay, Charlottesville & Speyside. Either drive yourself or hire a car & driver for the day
Or take a Boat tour that includes snorkeling, beach BBQ & swim in the famous Nylon Pool-its a great day out & something that we do on a regular bases!

Englishman's bay-if you walk is approx 1.10mins away.
Go there for lunch at Miss Eula's -do visit - the scenery is breathtaking!
Getting around
Everything in the village is just a short walk away.

You can choose to rent a car for all or part of your stay
or why not hire a driver & car for a day or half day.
That way you can sit back, watch the scenery & get local information on the places that you visit...!
Car not needed
How to get there
European flights can be found with British Airways, Virgin Atlantic Thomas Cook or Condor from Frankfurt. International flights BA, American airlines & Caribbean Airlines fly into Piarco, Port of Spain Trinidad. There is an inter island service called the Air bridge-20 minute flight from Piarco (POS) into Crown Point Tobago. It flies back & forth all day from early morning until about Midnight. There is also a ferry service with daily fast & slow ferries into Scarborough from Port of Spain itself. We recommend you use the Air Bridge as the ferry can get delayed because of sea conditions. We are a 45mins drive from the airport. After a long flight we do recommend that you ask us to organise a cab from the village to pick you up on your behalf
